Thai Papaya Salad


2 garlic cloves

3 tbs palm sugar

dried shrimp (optional)

3-5 Thai chilis (optional)

1/2 lime

green papaya

1 large handful of green beans

10 large cherry tomatoes (halved)

3 1/2 tbs fish sauce


  1. Peel the green papaya and shred into fine slices. Place in a bowl and set aside.

  2. In a mortar, mash the garlic, palm sugar, and thai chilies. Add the green beans on top of the mix and lightly bruise before squeezing half a lime.

  3. Add the mixture to the bowl with papaya and mix.

  4. Lastly, add fish sauce, cherry tomatoes, and dried shrimp to the bowl and mix well.

  5. Plate and enjoy!
